This symbol actually carry significant information regarding the material of the plastic bottle, knowing the significance of the number is certainly crucial because they have direct impact on your health as well as the environment. Number one 1.PETE OR PET: The number 1 inside the triangle represents that the plastic is made of polyethylene terephthalate. This material is used to make soda bottles, water bottles, mouthwash bottles. This bottle is safe for single use and should never heated. some consider it safe , but this plastic is known to allow bacteria and flavour to accumulate. If you observe carefully, there will be message on the cover saying “crush the bottle after use” If you use this plastic bottle more than one time, it is undoubtedly hazardous to your health. This plastic are recycled tote bags , furniture’s, carpet , fibre etc. Number 2 HDPE: The number 2 inside the triangle represents the container is made of high density polyethylene. These plastic can be reused and refiled. It is commonly used in Milk, jugs, household cleaner container, juice bottles, shampoo bottles, motor oil bottles and butter tubs. These plastic are considered to be safe, and has lower risk of leaching. It is recycled into pens, benches, tables, fencing etc. Number 3 Pvc: If you seenumber 3 inside the triangle dump the plastic immediately, these plastic is made of polo vinyl chloride. They contain DEHA or diethyl hydroxylamine which can be carcinogenic with long term exposure. It is commonly used in food wraps, plumbing pipes. And some detergent bottles. Number 4 you can reuse the plastic if it has number 4 inside the triangle. they made of low density polyethylene. These are commonly used as reusable bags especially shopping bags squeezable bottles, grocery store bags, dry cleaning bags, Frozen Food and some food wraps. Number 5 PP :the number 5 inside the triangle is the safest plastic in the list. they made of polypropylene. you will find it in ice cream cups, straws, syrup bottles,ketchup bottles, and medicine bottles. Number 6 PS : The number inside the triangle indicate dangerous.they are made of polystyrene. it is notorious for being difficult to recycle thus it is bad for the environment also. number 6 is commonly used in plastic spoons disposable plates and cups and meat trays etc Number 7 Number 7 inside the triangle indicates deadly .its plastic is made up a mixture of polycarbonate and bisphenol A.
